Auditions - A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE
TO LOVE AND MURDER

Springboro Community Theatre is proud to announce auditions for "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder" directed by Kimberly Warrick with music direction by Judy Mansky.

 

Auditions for the hilarious, Tony award-winning musical are September 18th and 19th, beginning at 6:30 p.m. If needed, callbacks will be on September 20th at 6:30 p.m.

 

Attendance at both nights of auditions is not mandatory, but auditionees are welcome to attend both if they wish. The show will run November 10th - 12th and 17th - 19th, 2023.

What to expect at auditions:
- Please prepare approximately 32 bars of a song in the style of the show.
- Cold readings will be done from the script.

 

Rehearsals begin Monday, September 25 at 6:30. Rehearsals are Monday through Thursday 6:30 - 9:00. A more detailed rehearsal schedule will be available on the first day of rehearsal. All roles are available. 

 

When the low-born Monty Navarro finds out that he's eighth in line for an earldom in the lofty D'Ysquith family, he figures his chances of outliving his predecessors are slight and sets off down a far more ghoulish path. Can he knock off his unsuspecting relatives without being caught and become the ninth Earl of Highhurst? And what of love? Because murder isn't the only thing on Monty's mind....

 

Montague "Monty" Navarro - baritenor - Handsome, clever, charismatic, vulnerable and endearing. Discovers he is in line to become the Earl of Highhurst, and intends to kill off the family that stands in his way. 

Sibella Hallward - soprano - The girl Monty loves. 

Marietta Shingle - soprano - Monty's unexpected visitor. 

Phoebe D'Ysquith - soprano - Monty's cousin.

Six featured ensemble roles (3 female/3 male) all playing several different characters in the show. - Soprano/Alto/Tenor/Baritone/Bass
